Voetbalwereld reageert massaal: prachtige beelden van Bale gedeeld
Uit de voetballerij komen veel reacties binnen op het besluit van Gareth Bale om te stoppen als voetballer. Zijn oude clubs wensen hem het beste toe en ook voormalig ploeggenoten van Bale laten van zich horen.
Southampton, Tottenham Hotspur en LAFC hebben gereageerd op het afscheid van Bale, maar Real Madrid nog niet. Voormalig FC Groningen-speler en Fins international Tim Sparv, die bij Southampton een jaar samenwerkte met Bale, noemt het op Twitter 'een genot' om mรฉt en tegen Bale te hebben kunnen spelen. Michel Vorm, die Bale kent van hun gezamenlijke dienstverband bij Tottenham Hotspur, laat een korte reactie achter op Instagram.
Accounts van competities en zendgemachtigden delen bovendien video's van hoogtepunten uit de carriรจre van Bale. Zo vraagt de Premier League zich af of zijn volley tegen Stoke City in 2010 zijn mooiste doelpunt was in de competitie, deelt Ziggo Sport beelden van zijn weergaloze omhaal in de Champions League-finale van 2018, denkt het Champions League-account terug aan Bales befaamde hattrick tegen Internazionale en plaatst La Liga een uitgebreide compilatievideo van de prestaties van de Welshman in de competitie.
